Purpose of the Program

The goal of the Center for Rural Health is to improve access to primary health care in rural and underserved areas of Illinois and to encourage community involvement in health issues. The center also serves as an information clearinghouse on rural health issues. Grants are available to assist local governmental units, agencies, and not-for profits in improving access to primary health care in underserved areas.

Who is Eligible

In order to be eligible for a grant, entities must be located in either a rural area or an underserved urban area.

Application Process

A competitive application process is used to make awards.
