Purpose of the Program
The purpose of this program is to promote primary and secondary forest product utilization, encourage forest industry growth and provide necessary resource information to industries seeking to locate or expand operations in Illinois.
Who is Eligible
In Illinois, timber buyers must be licensed by the Department of Natural Resources and must be bonded. No professional qualifications are needed to obtain a timber buyer’s license. Individuals or firms must complete an application form, satisfy the bonding
