Tara Chenoweth is the technical assistant for the Health MAPPING program. She is a graduate of Western Illinois University with a Bachelor’s or Arts degree (2000) and Master’s of Arts degree (May 2007) both in Sociology. She has experience in assessment, planning, and implementation of community projects. She has been involved in research related to the attitudes and awareness of Methamphetamine in rural areas.
Chenoweth is responsible for the continued development of the MAPPING the Future of Your Community’s Health Program. The MAPPING the Future of Your Community’s Health is a strategic visioning and planning program to improve community health in rural areas. Communities work with IIRA staff to conduct a needs assessment and examine data to make informed choices about their future. Chenoweth’s responsibilities include designing, coordinating, and facilitating each Community Health MAPPING process. She is able to work with rural communities on technical assistance projects as funding and time allows. Technical assistance can be facilitation on various projects, developing a survey instrument or conducting a survey with a partnering agency, conducting focus groups, or researching a specific health need.
