Bob Intrieri is a research fellow with the Illinois Institute for Rural Affairs (IIRA) and an Associate Professor of Psychology in the College of Arts & Sciences, Western Illinois University (WIU). He received a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1987 and joined the WIU faculty in 1998.

Primary Activities
Bob Intrieri has conducted more than 30 research studies related to the study of emotion, life satisfaction and perceived stress among differing age and residential groups and has prepared numerous presentations and publications based on this research. He currently holds over 20 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and monographs. His current research efforts focus on the differences between rural and urban community-dwelling residents, quality of life, and Mental Health.
