Robin Hanna is project manager of the Rural Economic Technical Assistance Center (RETAC) at the Institute for Rural Affairs. He had an MA in Political Science from University of Illinois at Urbana (1994), an MPA in Public Administration from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania (1992), and a BFA in Literature from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania (1989). He joined the IIRA in 1994.

Employment Expertise
Hanna has been with the IIRA for more than 12 years. For the past six years, he had managed RETAC. Prior to that, Hanna helped to implement action plans for more than 40 communities in his role as technical assistance coordinator for the MAPPING the Future of Your Community program. Hanna also brings a connection to the "real world" through twelve years of private sector experience in outside sales and construction management.

Research Interests
Hanna focuses on issues involving local community and economic development practices and mechanisms available to local development organizations. Hanna's current focus is the analysis of economic and fiscal impacts projects have on local and regional economies. In addition, he continues to conduct economic development programs for private businesses and community groups.
