Karen Poncin is a research associate at the Illinois Institute for Rural Affairs. She has a MBA (1982) and a BA in Sociology (1978) from Western Illinois University.
Responsibilities
Poncin is responsible for bringing publications of the Institute to camera-ready format, including the Rural Research Report series, project reports and monographs, brochures, and annual reports. She also coordinates research projects and works with faculty and staff on press releases.
Employment Experience
Poncin joined the Illinois Institute for Rural Affairs in May 2002. Prior to that time she worked for Spoon River College for fifteen years. Her last position was that of Assistant Dean of Instruction. In that position, she had responsibilities that included institutional research, state and federal reporting, and strategic planning.
