As manager of the Peace Corps Fellows Program in Community Development, Karen Mauldin-Curtis is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the program, including fund-raising and grant management, design and supervision of the program's core curriculum, student and staff development, internship placement and support, and development of program partnerships.

Karen came to the position with experience in both the Peace Corps and this Fellows Program. She served her Peace Corps assignment in the Dominican Republic (1992-1994) as a Community Education volunteer. In May of 1997, Karen graduated in the second class of Peace Corps Fellows at Western Illinois University with her M.A. in Geography.

When not involved with the Fellows Program, Karen is busy raising her three young children, practicing and teaching yoga, and managing a small-scale, organic, market garden and Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) project with her husband.
