Kristi Kupka is the staff accountant for the Illinois Institute for Rural Affairs. She has a B.B. with Honors in Accountancy from Western Illinois University (1999) and received her CPA in 2000.
Employment Experience
Kupka has been a member of the IIRA staff since 1998. Prior to that time she worked in the retail industry in a variety of management positions. Her last position was as the Staple Stock Manager at the Corporate Offices of Neiman Marcus in Dallas, TX. She has also been a women's swimwear buyer, store manager, human resources manager, merchant systems manager, systems and trainer.
Responsibilities
Kupka is responsible for the institute's managerial accounting function and is the liaison between IIRA staff and the university's administrative offices. She provides oversight of the $3 million annual IIRA budget. She is also responsible for development of the IIRA's Management Information System. The primary function of this system is to track financial and staff activity for internal review, external reporting, and the generation of value statements for clients.
